Delicious homemade food is very much part of the Shacklabank experience.

Hearty three-course meals, sumptuous desserts and al fresco picnics make dining at Shacklabank as rewarding as the walking and the farming. All food is freshly prepared and homebaked. Here is a taster of what to expect:

Breakfast

Choose from: “The Full Shacklabank!”, ham and eggs, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, homemade bread, pastries and preserves. Plus a choice of fruit juices, tea and coffee

Picnic eaten on location

Tea and coffee with a good selection of homemade cakes and tea breads, enjoyed either in the garden or farmhouse

Suppertime

Homemade soup

Shacklabank leg of Rough Fell Lamb, new potatoes, fresh mint, selection of fresh vegetables (vegetarian options also available)

Fruit tart, sticky ginger pudding or lemon meringue pie, all served with Lakes ice cream, fresh cream or custard
