ALISON O'NEILL
WOMEN IN RURAL ENTERPRISE AWARD WINNER 2006

Alison O’Neill has successfully turned her dream of sharing her way of life and reconnecting people to the countryside into a reality.

“I was born and bred a free range, free-spirited child amongst the Howgill Fells in Cumbria. I left the area to explore the world, travelled extensively and sampled city life and returned home, richer for the experience. I am now a farmer and accomplished horsewoman with a pure and infectious love of the fells, dales, people, farming, nature and life (not to mention my huge appreciation of home baking). As a qualified leader and guide it will be a joy to share this wild remote and beautiful landscape with you. We will roam free over peaceful fell tops, take in breathtaking views and explore a much less trodden path. My love of this area has never been as strong. I warmly invite you to range free with me."

" so ill walk here i will over mountain and hill and ill lie where the bracken is deep
i belong to the mountains the clear running fountains
where the grey rocks rise ragged and steep"
